The whole slagging off the american attempt aside, I really really hope that it doens’t turn into a whole relationship thing. If they handle it with the maturity of a male watson’s feelings for sherlock - that non-sexual kind of love out of respect and affection - then I imagine it will all be good. But the whole will they won’t they trite rubbish that often pops up, where watson is all walking around like ‘ooh you’re so intelligent! how dreamy!’ is annoying and I hope it’d handled better. Not that hetrosexual love is somehow ‘cheaper’ than homosexual love, as quite a few fangirls and fanboys seem to think (though, these tend to be the yaoi crowd who miss the entire point of homosexual love vs homosexual sex as it is anyway), but it just seems to end up as more trite and predictable.

I mean, look at how outraged and anxious fans were about BBC Irene. And, in my opinion, she was handled perfectly. (I know people disagree, but you must all at least admit that she wasn’t a paint-by-numbers character).

I just worry that they might, as ‘Steph L’ says, entirely miss the point of the series in their attempts to chase the standard paint-by-numbers relationship driven plot points of the majority of dramas.

But I have hopes, I won’t pretend to be in the least bit excited by ‘Elementary’, but I can wish it well, and home that the writers aren’t douchebags.
