I mean, the old English spelling is usually awful, but this is FRAKKING ABYSMAL. And it rambles like a deep south bible thumping hillbilly who’s drunk too much moonshine. It sounds like that exact awful stereotype. But written (or translated, raher) in the 1500s.

I usually enjoy the way monstrous births are turned around into religious polemics in these sources, but this is just godawful. It just rambled incoherently on and on and on for page after page. Even by Early Modern Protestant standards it reads as bigoted.

Although the picture of the ‘papal ass’ and the ‘monk calfe’ monsters are pretty cool.

And yes, that is a face growing out of the arse of the ‘papal ass’
